This lab provides an in-depth introduction to the cupping ritual used by coffee professionals worldwide to evaluate coffees. Students will learn cupping terminology and methodology and become familiar with the written forms used for cupping professionally. Participants also will learn to taste, recognize, and identify the unique characteristics of different coffees through cupping, Additionally, students will learn palate calibration techniques, participate in a triangulation taste exercise, and develop valuable coffee tasting skills that will continue to improve with practice.
