Welcome Home Baristas!

Our 2009 Counter Intelligence Camp was attended by home baristas and coffee professionals alike for two days of intensive coffee education. Photo by Counter Culture Coffee. Thanks for visiting Counter Culture Coffee! We hope you find the time to look around and stay a while. Our espresso blends represent finely tuned interpretations of classic regional Italian styles, and our rotating, seasonal single-origin selections represent the freshest new arrivals from our partners at origin. Throughout the year, we also offer seasonal Single-Origin Espressos (SOEs) to augment our flagship lineup of regional Italian espresso blends

To help you achieve the best possible results, we include recommended brewing parameters with each espresso offering, and for our thoughts on best practices for drip brewing, we encourage you to visit our online Brewing Guide. Our head roaster, Tim Hill, and our talented Roasting department arrived developed our espresso parameters at our Durham Training Center using a La Marzocco FB80 with LM double baskets and coffee rested 7-9 days off-roast. (Every 12 oz bag includes the roast date.) Ultimately, these are simply starting points and your individual taste preference will be your best guide.

In addition to individual 12 oz bags of our espressos, we offer two ways to save on coffee purchases. Our Espresso Trio Pack includes a 10% discount on any three 12 oz bags of our regular espresso offerings. And our convenient Espresso Subscriptions offer delicious, fresh-roasted coffee delivered to you or a loved for three or six months with a savings of 10% off the coffee price!

Coffee Freshness

  • All coffees are shipped in 12 oz one-way valve bags for freshness, unless otherwise noted.
  • All orders received by midnight will be shipped the following business day. All orders received Friday-Sunday will be shipped the following Monday. We cannot guarantee order scheduling.
  • All coffee ships within one day of roasting.
  • We ship only whole bean coffees, because we believe great coffees are at their best immediately after grinding.
Please see our FAQ page for more information about order fulfillment.

Education

As part of our mission to create cutting edge coffee people from seed to cup, we offer a variety of labs, classes, and seminars – including Beginner Espresso Lab, Intermediate Espresso Lab, and Milk Chemistry Lab – taught by our team of coffee specialists at our Regional Training Centers. Please see our Counter Intelligence Course Catalogue for more information about individual offerings.

Our Email Newsletter

We send our e-newsletter approximately once a month to let people know about new authentic and delicious coffees, education opportunities, our relationships with partners at origin, sustainability efforts, and other relevant coffee news. Select the ESPRESSO list when signing up to more frequent updates about all things espresso-related. We offer an introductory coupon upon confirmation of signup! And, occasionally, the newsletter will include exclusive coupons for subscribers, as well.
